Ticoda or "Coda" has been my male Siberian Husky for 7 years. I've owned 5 in my life, but Coda and I had a VERY strong bond. He was more than a pet..he was my friend, my buddy, my security, my love.
He ran off with my female husky back in April of 2008 (as they had a habit of sometimes doing, by either jumping the invisible fence etc..) He always came back with "Foxy" but on this day he did not. We cannot figure out what happened. It's like he just disappeared. Not knowing is the worst feeling in the world...as there is no closure.
I have posted fliers, put ads online i.e, petfinder.com petrescue.com, in newspapers, had him on Channel 3 news here in CT..I still am running a tv ad on HKTV here in Haddam. I will not end the search. I have recently decided to add his own page to myspace as another outlet to reach out to people around the U.S.
I had a call one day by a "truck driver" who claimed he picked him up in my area. His story is that someone was holding him and didn't know who he belonged to so this truck driver took him..He called me, described Coda to a "t'. When I asked him to send me a picture so I could confirm it was actually Coda, the guy never called back. When I called him, someone else would answer the phone and give me the runaround. This guy claims to have been in Wisconsin at the time, but his cell phone number was from Chicago. I posted a ad in Craigslist in Chicago and I had a number of responses saying this guy was notorius for "claiming" people's lost items and basically just wanted to get money out of the deal somehow. The strange thing is, he never once asked about a reward or any monies....? This basically made things worse for me. Is he lost? stolen? dead?
I also had local farmers threaten to shoot him before as he ran through their property....I've had a couple people questioned by the State Police but of course, everyone denies any wrong doing. So here I am reaching out to all animal lovers across the world. Hoping someone somewhere will find my Coda or have some information on his disappearance.
Thanks to everyone for the adds, encouraging words, thoughts and prayers. It's all greatly appreciated!
Much love,
Coda's mom....Tracy
P.S. Foxy is coping with Coda's disappearance much better these days. For a while, she was depressed, not eating and had no energy. She would basically sit around and wait for Coda to come back. Seperation anxiety with huskies could be a nightmare...and it's sad.
She's been in better spirits, has her days where she gets lonely, but she's more spoiled now than ever! She gets ALL the attention and is treated like the Queen she is. We'd still give ANYTHING to have our boy back though. It's not the same around here without his hugs and kisses.
